On 28 September 2017, in the lead up to International day of the Older Person on 1 October, The Benevolent Society launched The Drivers of Ageism report.
The audience heard from CEO of The Benevolent Society, Jo Toohey; Age Discrimination Commissioner, The Hon Dr Kay Patterson; and social commentator, Jane Caro on why it was important not just to understand the impacts of ageism on older Australians, but also to unpick the attitudes and beliefs that lead to ageist behaviours.
