Local governments across Australia are supporting the EveryAGE Counts campaign. Councils and Shires are important partners in the campaign to end ageism because they are well connected, trusted and close to their communities.
The following Councils have expressed support for the EAC campaign, by either joining EveryAGE Counts as a member, by passing a motion to highlight the impacts of ageism and committing to take action to address it, or by rolling out local campaigns to raise awareness.
We also encourage State-based local government associations and regional organisations to run co-ordinated campaigns. The efforts of the Inner East Primary Care Partnership, the Municipal Association of Victoria and the Southern Melbourne Primary Care Partnership have demonstrated just how powerful these collaborations can be. You can contact us to discuss how this might work for your organisation by clicking here.
We would love you to join us! If you are involved in Local Government and would like your Council to support EveryAGE Counts we have a number of resources you can use.
Councils can show their support for ending ageism by passing this Draft Council motion.
